    [SOLVED] Firefox 3.01 plugin issues...

I tried accessing my high school's website, and Mozilla Firefox stated I needed some missing plugins to display everything. So, I installed them all...and it still states that I need those plugins. I've already restarted Firefox, what else should I do?

    I'm using Ubuntu 8.04, btw.

Something about Adobe. Sorry, I can't reproduce it now, there's a new issue that's replaced it.

Now, the buttons that previously said I needed more plugins for appear as buttons with a Play symbol on them. When I click on them, they take the appearance they're supposed to have.

Is there something I can do so everything comes up normally?

    Yes, I restarted Firefox.

If it helps, when I right-click the buttons, and hit properties, Firefox calls them "Flash Movies". Is there a setting to automatically play these?

It might be the web site and there is noting you can do about it. There are several sites that insist that I don't have Flash installed. I do.

Ok, I figured out what was wrong. Apparently, only the Adobe Flash plugin works, and I had both the gnash and...what's it called, swf-something?,,,drivers installed too. Firefox only recognized one of them, and it didn't work. The page still looks wrong, but the specific Flash issue is fixed.

Thanks for trying...I think I'm going to go try Opera and a couple other browsers now, just to experiment.
