    I have had this problem for a while...and finally tried to fix it. I was getting the message even though my .dmrc was set to 644 permission.

    I changed the home folder permission to 700 (owner=rwx, and all others blank) and...

    IT WORKED!!!

    Now I can log on in peace. I hope this works for you!

    Hey djoefish is there any way you can do that from the terminal in recovcery mode because i cant sign in default
    This is the dumbest error I found in bios
    "Error Keyboard Failure Press F1 to continue or DEL to enter setup

    I'm not sure about the commands (I'm kinda new), but I think it would be something like:

    chmod 700 <home folder>

    I'm sure that someone else can correct me if this is wrong

    WORKED realy fine.

    After a new log on, i set permission of the home folder back to 755 and everything is fine.
