Audio+wlan work on Live CD, stop working after install

Hello,

This is on an MSI S420 laptop (with an ATI SB450 south bridge, ALC883 sound and RaLink RT2561/RT61 wifi)

I downloaded Hardy 8.04.
First i launched the live CD and everything worked perfectly.
Then i rebooted and installed the system and when it finished and rebooted the wifi was unable to see or connect to any network and the audio was looping the beginning of the startup sound over and over and could not be stopped.

I can see both the wifi and audio devices but they are just not working as they should.

BTW, if i boot the live CD again, everything works perfectly again.
