How do I compress video for youtube

avidemux might be able to help.
Read some topic on it.

Unfortunately, it MIGHT take a long time to convert and you will not know the outcome until it is done (well, except for that you can see the size converted and percentage of it so you can approximately count it out).

sudo apt-get install avidemux
That should do it.

i installed it and how do i see where it is? How do I put a shortcut to the desktop ? I Dont see it on the programs/remove/programs

Umm... ALT+F2 (Run Application) and enter "avidemux" or enter the same in terminal.

And as I smell a lot of trouble, you could just might use google to find how to convert videos in avidemux just not to spam the topic.

BTW, it should also appear in Applications>Sound&Video.

an 8gb video? wow , im sure that there will be more than one part, beware of the 10 minute limit!

if its less than 10 mins well, that the most uncompressed video ive seen in my life ^^

I think he used Fraps. Fraps really sucks at compressing (or it just doesn't compress not to load the computer too much when filming).

why is cinellera so lame ? I put videos and they become 8GB big, plus they dont play, except a constant green screen , like IM trying to film a digital backrground movie on a green wall. Meh :s
