There are 2 commonly used folder hierarchy's:

1. All music files in one big folder
2. Folders broken down into Artist/Album/Tracks

It's the 2nd of these 2 that interest me. Particularly when ripping CD's. Normally, the hierarchy works fine, unless you have an album with various artists. Then the whole thing falls apart simply because the entry in the cddb hass the artist as various, and the title contains both artist and title separated with either a backslash or a forwardslash which gives extra unwanted folders, with possibly badly/unwanted named files.

Can anyone provide any solutions, especially ones that could be put forward to developers of ripping software so as to reduce the effort required in order to maintain a standard folder hierarchy?
