TexMaker and Linux "File Not Found"

    Hi,

I'm having a hard time getting TexMaker to run anything. I have 12.10 ubuntu.
I installed everything as per http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=131507
with the exception of installing TexMaker from the ubuntu software center. All of the command line latex functions seen to work.

I have downloaded a simple example file. But when I press quick build or any other method of building, I get "File not found".

I seem to have installed both latex and texmaker and latex is in my PATH. What am I missing? Why cant' I find the files still?

    Thanks!

Note : a LaTeX distribution must be installed on the system to use Texmaker.
