I download Ubuntu 10.04 the other day, it is my 1st time using it, and it is so good.
but my problem is that there is no sound in it. I did not edit any settings in it or other config files, i just did a partial upgrade in it because when i Opened Update Manager, it says that I should upgrade.
The first thing I noticed was that the speaker icon doesnt have any
sound waves in it.

As you can see in there, the volumes are all normal but the
speaker icon (on the bottom right) doesnt seem to respond from the actual settings.

Second, I noticed that before I can login, before I can select my user account at the boot-up process, some text shows up. It shows up something like this:
