i just used wubi to download and install ubuntu 8.04.1 and install onto my acer laptop. Thats all fine and dandy i guess, but then i tried to start it up. Instead of presenting me with the graphical login screen i know and love, im dropped into a shell (ash). I have no idea what to do from there, and i would be very happy if someone could give me a push in the right direction

please help, i want to enjoy ubuntu as soon as possible
