    difference /etc/environment vs .bashrc

    Hi,

    I've always used my .bashrc file for my enviroment,
    but yesterday I was told to use /etc/environment.

    Can someone tell me the difference.
    Running 8.10 on a lenovo 3000 n200!
    Fingerprint reader doesn't work.

    .bashrc is for the user only, /etc/environment is system wide.
