Wink Red Star Linux: A communist Linux distro from Argentina!!!

And now there is a Linux distro for communists, socialists and revolutionaries from Argentina called Red Star Linux. Presently in Spainsh I have tried my best to translate details about the distro from their website using online translation. Following is what I found on their website. You could also visit the website and may be translate the text better and post your views about it:

"Red Star (Red Star) Linux is a distribution of GNU / Linux-based Debian in general use. In other words a free operating system for revolutionaries. This article suffers censorship in Wikipedia Castilian by librarians alluding to the same rules of non compliance "notabilidad, vanity and self." How there is a Ubuntu for Christians, we believe it is very necessary and useful sublime collection of software that make this Distro of socialist ideas. His name in English is only a game ironic alluding to 'Red Hat' and 'Red Flag Linux'. All we know is that Red Star! Red Star Linux advocates that the policy is already mixed with Linux, at the time that does business or the economy enters a liberal in the production and sale of software, as a commodity. Motivated by the movement and leftist revolutionary and internationalist. In a code name "Che 80" tribute of the 80 birth anniversary of revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara. Red Star Linux comes in response to technical-political monopoly of Microsoft (and their backdoors) and the degeneration of the original spirit of GNU with perversions are purely commercial and Xandros, SuSe, Linspire, OpenSolaris, Linux XP, etc.., According to Red Star developer closes its users in the "apolitical" and consumption. Red Star Linux is in support of the revolutionary side of Richard Stallman (Do not confuse that with RMS supports RSL). One of his goals is to bring GNU / Linux Debian's popularity in Latin America, but from the social struggle and proletarian reinvicación.With a Distro. popular, without using the Marketing as cree Red Star Linux does partly Ubuntu (also based on Debian). Initially comes in Spanish. You do not have any financing company. We hope in their early community outreach, with ethical and moral commitment to the ideals that defends Red Star, the revolutionary internationalist cause. Respect the freedom of free software, because free software is essential for freedom. Some are trying to draft tick adolescent rebellion, those unaware of the misery that exists in Latin America. Red Star is NOT a political pamphlet, or propaganda technology. We hope in the critical spirit and intelligence of users who are using GNU / Linux. Their use is simple, automatically starts from the CD (CD-Live) and then can be installed on the hard drive of an easy way siguientdo an assistant of no more than 25 minutes. The distribution is based on the power of Slax and the popularity of Debian, approached these powerful technologies to all types of users.

Manifesto to defend Red Star Linux

    1. The apolitical is a lie. In the streets, there are ideas, ideologies, economics, systems… The computer is part of it, making it impossible to abstract, without falling into hypocrisy. Defending apolitical is losing the right to participate in society.

    2. Respect freedom: if they disagree with socialism, no one forces them to be used or distribution.

    3. Red Star is hope in the critical spirit and intelligence of users who are using GNU / Linux. It is not a political pamphlet, is a Distro not self-censorship of their influences popular and revolutionary, is proud.

    4. A distribution does not represent the movement GNU / Linux, or Free Software. It's just one more distribution, perhaps better technically called "metadistro" if they like.

    6. Diversity is important: Just as there is a Christian edition of Ubuntu, or distros owners, however nobody has criticized the brutality that was criticized Red Star Linux.

    7. Replanting if critical thinking, the hacker spirit, or are not direct representations of GNU / Linux. And what relationship-business community, the problem of capitalist exploitation to the work of many volunteers.

    8. There is no point in sharing software, whether or not shared is an example to society. We need a social transformation in order to achieve this, and thousands of souls have left their lives for that cause.

    9. GNU / Linux must be a complete system for minorities, to reach homes, schools and jobs of millions. The key perhaps this in our own attitudes.

    10. Personal message to the community:

"The reasons for the existence of this distribution that are already more developed and explained. And we believe that not to collaborate with GNU / Linux, the Free Software and Knowledge.

It is time to heighten awareness of social problems, serious as exploitation, domination and marginalisation of political powers on oppressed peoples. The war for oil, and the food crisis. You can not continue to be ignored as if nothing happened. We must show solidarity with transforming injustice in equality. In the "new man" we exemplified with his life Ernesto "Che" Guevara."

About the above distro, aren't communist countries well known for their censorship?

I hate communism (my country, as the rest of the Eastern Europe, has been under a communist regime more than 40 years, with dreadful consequences that lasted until today) so I thing my opinion is pretty obvious...

My father came to England from Lithuania in 1900 (he was a baby) with his parents. I think they were escaping from Communism, though I can't prove this as they are dead, and I don't remember them. I just remember my father not liking Russia.

While this thread is dealing with a political distro, lets keep statements that are offensive out of this

There are many socialistic/marxist/communist people on this forum.

Socialism is not communist nor is it anything revolutionary. Why do they include socialism along with communism and revolutionaries they are no radical party nor do they have any more love for communists than most people. I have never understood such attitudes like those present in America where people see socialism and socialists as just another form of the dreaded evil communism, the Great Satan!
