I use XP on my main machine. My server runs Ubuntu 8.04 desktop edition. I go to my shared folder from Windows and mark a few folders or files I want to copy. I paste them on my Windows hard drive, and the transfer starts. I then go back to the shared folder, and type to find what I need. I find it. The transfer stops. This is irritating. OR, I make a new transfer that goes paralell with the initial transfer. Both transfers stops. All this happends now and then, maybe between reboots, I don't know the cause. Sometimes I can easily have many paralell transfers.

I try to stream video files from Ubuntu to Windows using VLC at the Windows end over a shared folder. Sometimes when I start, it streams perfectly for 3-10 sec. Then it stops. I have to stop it and start it a few times before it lets me stream. I don't think I had this problem in 7.10. Why does this happen?
