Steam (again) NEED HELP! (any thoughts would be nice too)

I just recently upgraded to the ati 8.7 drivers, and my steam games don't work.

here's a little info:

UT3-never worked... still doesn't
tf2- crashed on the 8.5 driver screen corruption on the 8.6 and now just a black screen.

- i haven't bothered to install anymore games until i get these working.

ETQW works fine, so i know i installed the drivers properly

I have a 2900xt and i thought that the game would be play able by now, I mean If the fixed the checkerboard of death it would have run fine, but now all i get is a blank screen, but i can here the music

I have tried forcing dx8 and my monitors native resolution.

if someone can help, or at least point me in the right direction i would be very happy

Look at this Wine AppDB for Steam and UT3 should run without Wine because of OpenGL.

not if he bought the game of steam which i am assuming he has

have you tried forcing the launch options for ut3 and setting to opengl (just searching for them now)

try this for luanch options -width 1280 -height 800 -Opengl
