    I have arrived!

While I don't play either of those games, I *can* tell you that it will run Unreal Tournament 2004 and Warsow (which uses an enhanced Quake 2 engine) acceptably. Urban Terror and OpenArena both use the Quake 3 engine, so if one runs well, the other will probably also. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to play either, at the very least on low graphics settings (and with better performance than on ATi cards! ).

I'll download Urban Terror tonight and let you know how it runs.

Do you mean the X1300, cause there isn't a ATi Radeon X3100.

If it is the X1300, it is an excellent DX9 card. Urban Terror uses the Quake 3 engine, that game can pretty much run on most PCs. I have a ATi Radeon 7000 (low end DX7 card), it could run Urban Terror on low gfxs @ 10fps.

The X1300 card is capable of running much more demending games such as Call of Duty 4, Crysis (on low) and Oblivion. You will have no trouble running Urban Terror. On my gaming pc, it has a X1550 card. It can run Quake 3 on full at about 120+ fps!

You will have no problems running Urban Terror. As long as you have 3D acceleration enabled.

I think the X3100 is correct as some Intel chipsets have X3100 graphics.

Oh yeh, a bit silly of me to automaticly asume its an ATi. Though, they use the same numbering system.

Well, if it is an Intel X3100 that means he is using the open source driver, which has very limited openGL capabilities. Most Linux games should run fine as long as you set them to low/medium settings.

yeah sorry i didn't clarify Intel, been at soccer all morning. I was under the impression the open source drivers were improving since intel released the source code?

Having docs. is one thing, building a workable driver is another. The current open source drivers are limited to openGL 1.3-1.5, but since not many Linux games use/require anything higher than 1.5, this shouldn't be a problem (except for Wine, which needs full openGL 2.0 for most of it's DX translations).

Are we comparing Intel vs. ATi cards on OpenGL here? Because the Intel x3100 seems to get framerates in OpenGL much closer to those I get in DirectX games running in Windows than my last (admittedly bad) ATi card, the ATi Xpress 200m. Neither of them are gaming cards, but the ATi ran OpenGL games as slideshows.

Anyway. I tested Urban Terror, and with everything turned down at 800x600, I got about 60FPS. Same settings at 1024x768, and I averaged between 40FPS and 30FPS, though it did spike at 60FPS when I was in smaller areas. It's quite playable, as long as you don't mind the low settings. I turned the texture quality up to normal, the color depth up to 32bit, and texture filtering to trilinear, and at 1024x768 I started getting framerates between 15FPS and 25FPS.

My machine is a Vostro 1510, with a Core 2 Duo processor running at 1.9 GHz and 2 gigs of ram.
