Terminal, definitely. I've been learning ZSH as an alternative to BASH (More features, albeit larger.) Kildclient, Pidgin... I'm probably missing something.

I Ubuntu, Therefore, I Am
Dmenu, Bash, and Vim. Vim is the best text editor and Bash is the best shell. Because I'm not enough of a masochist to run just the command line, I need an easy way to launch apps. That's where dmenu comes in. It's lightweight and very powerful.
EDIT: No more Bash. I use zsh now
