    Exporting From Evolution And Thunderbird

A couple of weeks ago, I posted a topic about the difficulty I was having exporting from Evolution and Thunderbird. I'm starting a new topic because the situation has changed, and I'm able to go through with exporting. My question is - how to I export mail from Thunderbird, and import the mail in a new version? How do I do the same thing with Evolution?

if you upgrading thunderbird it will save your emails. I know this because I have done it. Evolution should work the same way. If your really worried just save the messages to a safe place and reimport them if needed.

    Hi,

For evolution you can do (inside evolution) File > Backup settings and go through with the wizard. This will, AFAIK, backup mail, acct settings and calendar.

Once updated, just go to file > restore settings and find that *.tar.gz that was created.
