I think the real issue here is users thinking they need all the exact same edits you've done when in actual fact a new config from the latest version and your conkyrc should do it right?

edit: Also just realised you posted answers to the outstanding questions at the same time as my last post, I think we're on the same page Although I didn't realise there was so much b*llocks surrounding the new thread...I think I will be taking a back seat soon and not replying to any thread posts too to be fair...too many people asking questions straight away rather than figuring things out, but hey ho life goes on elsewhere

I've been doing some forensics (since the well was poisoned last week) and M's cache doesn't gel well with texeci!

This isn't a condemnation of his work. Just saying.

I don't think texeci existed when K wrote conkyForecast, and if you really want to see what he can do check this out and that was before conky could display images!

I don't mince words. I said I wasn't condemning his code, and I wasn't.

M is a genius! There, I said it...

Now, I suppose I'll be branded as a servile self-seeker, who attempts to win favor by flattering influential people. LoL!

M is the one that pointed out the texeci problem, not me. I simply tested his assertion (for a week) and he was right.

I don't know the history of texeci, but it works great for things like rhythmbox-client, which I'm calling every 2 seconds.

I'll continue to use texeci for perfunctory execi calls in Conky, but not in conkyForecast - that's all. No big deal!

I got Conky 1.8.0 / conkyForecast 2.16 working in Ubu 11.04 Alpha 2 (Unity).

That is, everything except my stupid calendar. LoL!

I just want to highlight to all subscribers that may get the wrong idea...this thread it is not a place for publishing entire conky setups unless they will specifically aid any current or future users of the conkyForecast package...any updates relating to content other than this just do not belong here and belong in the conkyrc thread instead where a greater audience will benefit. This thread serves best with a lower post rate and more specific content

I just wanted to let you know that conkyForecast 2.16 works on Ubu 11.04 Unity & Classic desktops (with no mods).

So why do i keep getting an "Invalid Partner Code" message on my conky? I have made an account, and used the numbers from the email they sent me (twice, I even opened up a newer account just in case)

Make sure the codes are on the end of the line woithout quotes

e.g. not like this:

XOAP_PARTNER_ID = "1234567890"
XOAP_LICENCE_KEY = "aaaabbbbccccdddd"

but like this:

XOAP_PARTNER_ID = 1234567890
XOAP_LICENCE_KEY = aaaabbbbccccdddd

If that's how it looks then not sure...might be worth registering again maybe?

Yeah I don't know, still not working. I went through all the other scripts and tried all the Licence keys and Partner ID's. I guess I'll play with it more?
