Can't get printer to work (epson stylus dx4850)

Hi,

I am trying to get the Epson Stylus DX8450 to work. I followed this tutorial:

(basically just installing pipslite-cups and pipslite packages)

Anyways after I had done so, the printer seems to be installed fine and I can see it in System->Administration->Printing and also via the web interface http://localhost:631.

I can print test pages from both those configuration utilities, but I cannot print anything from any program.

This is what happens:
After I click print the print job gets stopped almost immediately, see the screenshot.

I think it is a problem with file permissions somehow, but can't figure it out...

Also, TurboPrint list your printer as being supported.

TurboPrint isn't free, but you can download a demo version first, to check that it works OK for you.

Thanks, I didn't know about Turboprint. I tried it out and it works very nice, great options too, just unfortunate that it is so expensive.

If you want all the options, which would be great, you'll have to buy "Turboprint Studio" for 60 euros (just a little less than the printer costs), alternatively you can buy a version with less options for 30 euros.

Anyways I will be using it for at least the next 30 days, thanks again for the tip.
