Your free version of Crossover relies on President Bush doing something right! :-)

Here is something new from Codeweavers. I wonder what the chances are of 24 hours of free fully supported versions of their software being given away? Not too great when it relies on President Bush to make positive changes before his presidency expires.

    Hi,

It is with great pride (and not a little trepidation) that I announce
the launch of the CodeWeavers Great American Lame Duck Presidential
Challenge! The Challenge is CodeWeavers’ way of ensuring that the
nation’s business does not languish during the upcoming election season.
Oh, and also of ensuring that our press buzz doesn’t totally languish
while we develop CrossOver 8.0, and that we encourage a different set of
eyeballs to look at CodeWeavers .

The goal of our challenge is to present reasonable goals for President
Bush to achieve during his last six months in office. You can see them here:

    http://lameduck.codeweavers.com

If President Bush achieves any, or all, of these goals, we’ll respond by
giving away our software for free for 24 hours. Full copies. Fully
supported. Totally Free. It’s just that simple.

So, as I mentioned in a prior email, I'd like to ask your help in
promoting CodeWeavers. If you find this entertaining, or are willing
to help the US accomplish something (*anything*) useful in these dogs
days of summer, please visit this link and Digg us up:

Thank you, again, for your ongoing support of CodeWeavers!

    Cheers,

    Jeremy White

They should add at least 1 thing that could actually happen like:

Bush creates a perpetual motion machine while playing with his Legos.

    or

Bush discovers cheeseburger Happy Meals cure cancer.

None of those goals can be reached I am afraid.
Unless one of those goals is "be stupid... be very very stupid"

You know, or you could "get a job" and "buy it" so that the developers can
"pay their rents" and "feed their kids". Then you could be "" rather than "" and might not look like such an idiot.

My only complaint with this list is that, historically, the economy generally does better when the government keeps it's hot little hands out of it. (Well, accourding to Thomas Sowell it does.)

The list is actually something reasonable, though. I was expecting items a lot more biased and completely unlikely, such as, "No more Iraq war!", or... well, I don't know. Less nonpartisin. Codeweavers is staying classy, which is nice.

Eh, I dunno. Asking that Bush do something right is unreasonable if you ask me.

We'll never get free Crossover. =(
People will be much more willing to help you if you ask smart questions.
