    Another Guild Wars ATI problem

Hello all. I saw a post which looked like it might be somewhat related but the error messages are a bit different. I am currently trying to run Guild Wars on an ATI x1600 pro using wine 1.1.1

The error messages are posted below. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is the first time I have really attempted to mess with anything wine-related:

The initial download and install of wine GwSetup.exe. Note that it downloads all files successfully but dies when trying to launch:
    Code:

Again, I suspect this may be related to the bug with fglrx rather than wine that others have been having problem with regarding the "unrecoverable graphics error," and if this is simply another version of the thread located at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=788668 I apologize and please merge =]

Thanks again for any and all help as it is very much appreciated!

Re: Another Guild Wars ATI problem

Im no expert, but im going to throw some suggestions your way. I had a bit of trouble running WoW on my machine with an ATi card installed.

My card doesnt like running in DirectX/3d much, therefore I had to force WoW to run in OpenGl mode. You may have to do the same with Guildwars.

There would probably be some config type file where you could add such a line?

I found another post which may be of help

Re: Another Guild Wars ATI problem

Thanks for the link. Just a small update but upgrading my driver didn't do much to help, I think it made it worse (if that's possible).
