    conky problem, it flashes frequently

    when the conky is working, it'll flash in a interval.

    how to solve it ?

    adding the following to .conkyrc may help stop flickering.

    yeah this was also working fine for me in intreopid, since jaunty constant flashes and resizing of conky, EXTREMELY annoying. and this line was already added to my conkyrc file

    It's flickering every 2 minutes when your fortune changes because the
    window is adjusting to the differing lengths of the fortune.
    If you change
    Code:
    minimum_size 200
    to
    Code:
    minimum_size 300 700
    it should stop flickering.

    Also in your fortune part use
    Code:
    fold -sw50
    so sentences are folded at spaces.

    P.S. For offensive fortunes use
    Code:
    ${execi 120 fortune -o -s | fold -sw50}
    You'll need the fortunes-off package.
