CD Problems

Hello! I'm new to both the forums and Linux, so I really don't know anything about it. I have successfully installed Xubuntu Feisty Ferret, and have had it updated completely. However, when I insert a CD, it is immediately ejected without my doing anything, no matter if it is a CD-R or not. Any help?

Stick in a CD, let it pop out. Then open a terminal
and type

tail -n10 /var/log/messages

Please post the output.

Please post

ls -l /media/

Then type

sudo mkdir -p /media/cdrom
gksu gedit /etc/fstab

Change

/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0

to

/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom iso9660,udf user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0

Then try popping a CD in.
If it is spat out, please post dmesg.out as an attachment:

dmesg > dmesg.out
