    usually phone have special files that you can transfer from the phone to other phone

    steps
    in your phone select the file (usually says Mark)
    ->send to -> Blue tooth

    if your computer is in range it is supposed to show on your phone and then viola the Passphrase things and off you go.

    else if this doesn't work clealy say what happens when you try to send files to computer

    I select the file to be sent ...and I select "send via bluetooth" option and then the phone searches and finds the computer.. I select the computer and then I press ok .. the display will show sending and then just after a second it shows sending failed..

    I am using GPRS through my phone and that has no problems

    Also I tried sending files both when using and not using gprs

    Also I can send files from computer to phone....

    Re: how to transfer files from PC to mobile phone through bluetooth

    Sending to Ubuntu 8.04 via BT doesn't work (as I know).

    In 7.10 it worked like this: in terminal write "obexpushd -B". And all your files are received to home folder. ("sudo apt-get install obexpushd" if not found)

    Now there is "Receive files from remote devices" in BT preferences, which doesn't work.

    There was a way figured out for 32-bit version, but no luck for my 64-bit

    I think I'm going with OpenSUSE 11.0 or back to 7.10...

    [Edit:]

    Nasty way, but it works: http://technology-included.blogspot....buntu-804.html

    I have the opposite problem. I have sony ericsson k800 cybershot. Phone can send files but when i try to send from pc,it send one file by using send file to phone option. But when i am browsing my cellphone after connecting it to computer it shows files n i can copy them to pc but when i try to drag n drop or say copy paste files from pc to phone,it says Error: Cant transfer files.
