    Intrepid-Desktop Alph 2

Installation gets stuck (amd64 in Core 2 Duo) at step 3 of 7.
    Any ideas?

I can confirm it gets stuck but that's with an earlier CD. I guess it still doesn't work since I last tried last!

better yet file a bug report. Especially since it seems like you arent the only one with the problem. The whole point of having the alphas available is for testing and finding the bugs so that they arent in the final release.

Thanks tamoneya. I'll do it. I've tried a daily build with the same results. I only was able to install with the first amd64 Alternate. Updates screwed up my installation when trying to go from 26-2 to 26-3 kernel.

We'll I'm writing to you from Intrepid Ivex installed in an 8 GB Pen Drive. I installed with Alternate amd64, did all the updates and everything is fine. I couldn't install k3b because of dependency problems. Very strange. I have konqueror, openssh and other goodies.

I dont recommend anybody to update from 8.04 to Interpid yet. It's not safe, it messed my ubuntu 8.04 up so I had to reinstall it, wait for final or beta.

Good for you! I don't either. I did a clean install. Using 26-4

CD Lives get stuck on install. If you look at Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter #99 it says use the Alternates which use a text mode install. They work, except manual partitioning screws up the partition sizes - use GpartEd Live for any partition changes.
