I can confirm it gets stuck but that's with an earlier CD. I guess it still doesn't work since I last tried last!
Desktop: Q6600 OC: 343 x 9, 4 GB RAM, 8600 GTS Twinview (22",17"), 1.5 TB RAID 5
Laptop: Lenovo T61 T7300 @ 2 GHz, 2GB RAM, Nvidia 140M Quadro, 160 GB harddrive

Thanks tamoneya. I'll do it. I've tried a daily build with the same results. I only was able to install with the first amd64 Alternate. Updates screwed up my installation when trying to go from 26-2 to 26-3 kernel.

We'll I'm writing to you from Intrepid Ivex installed in an 8 GB Pen Drive. I installed with Alternate amd64, did all the updates and everything is fine. I couldn't install k3b because of dependency problems. Very strange. I have konqueror, openssh and other goodies.

I dont recommend anybody to update from 8.04 to Interpid yet. It's not safe, it messed my ubuntu 8.04 up so I had to reinstall it, wait for final or beta.
Good for you! I don't either. I did a clean install. Using 26-4

CD Lives get stuck on install. If you look at Ubuntu Weekly Newsletter #99 it says use the Alternates which use a text mode install. They work, except manual partitioning screws up the partition sizes - use GpartEd Live for any partition changes.
