Exclamation Buffalo LinkStation HS-DH320GL on Hardy

    Hello,

I got a LinkStation from a friend of mine since he doesn't use it anymore.
Unfortunately, all I got was the Station, a power cord and a LAN cable, no manual and, most importantly: no user/password combo.

Now I'm not sure if I can get that thing to work at all, without having passwords and so on.
The only way I can connect it is through the LAN cable.

Has any of you ever worked with that device, and can give me some tips on how to go about it?

    Thanks!

Ok, what I got so far:

I can access the LinkStation's Admin Panel through a http:// connection, and change its settings.

But I still can't copy or move files onto it, it gives me the error "Operation not permitted by backend".
When I type in "smb://ip_of_linkstation" into nautilus's adress bar, I see in the title "Windows Shares on [[ip]]" that I'm somewhat on the station's folders, but I still am not able to actually do anything with it.

    Any ideas, anyone?

    Thanks.

    Try this: http://www.buffalo-technology.com/kn...b.php?id=10012

Guess it would suck if someone came into your house and stole your LinkStation though if it resets that easily
