$30-$40 sound card that works right off the rip and can do 7 speakers?

I'm looking for a good sound card, I dont need anything professional and trying to keep the cost down if I can.

Someone had suggested M-Audio, but its almost an $80 card.

I just want my music and movies to sound great, but like I said dont need top end professional.

I would also prefer this to just be plug in play - I'm really new to Linux and dont want to have to tweak everything in the begining to work.

My plan is to hook up a 5.1 home theater system and also 2 addtional speakers for my computer area.

    What are my options?

    Thanks guys.

I appreciate the help, but honestly that is too over whelming. When I use the tabs to get the sound cards to pull up... there are like 200 of them and I dont know what is what.

Sorry guys, I'm new to building computers, Linux and figuring out what is compatible.

I read the reviews and folks are using these with Linux.

that looks pretty resonable and right around everything im looking for.

so basically the extra 2 computer speakers I want just become the side speakers in a 7.1?

Does all normal sound flow throw side speakers to where its going to be enjoyable?

The only difference that I seen between this card & the M-Audio card is the sample rate.

The Creative sounds is - Sample Rate 96KHz

    The M-Audio is - Sample Rate 192KHz

What is that and is that really a big gap between the 2?
