    Best opensource graphical image editor/creator

    I'm looking for something that would be as good or near as good as Adobe's Photoshop that I could start graphic designing with.

    I'm almost positive there is a way to change that now in 2.4.

    I vote "Yes" for Krita... i.e. if you need quickly add a text to a graphics (JPG/GIF/PNG/.../etc), you can use Krita easily... [so for such you do not need "heavy" GIMP...]
