Who do you call when you need help?

today i was in the middle of trying to compile cheese from svn... and all was going well, until:
    Code:
    Checking for required M4 macros...
      glib-gettext.m4 not found
      pkg.m4 not found
***Error***: some autoconf macros required to build cheese
were not found in your aclocal path, or some forbidden
macros were found. Perhaps you need to adjust your
      ACLOCAL_FLAGS?
and while i can come here for help, what would happen if i needed to do something hard in linux NOW... then what (ie. at school, job, etc...)

so, can someone help me with the above problem? and answer how someone would get help NOW?

You get a support contract in advance, and, subject to the terms of the contract, you get help.

If someone asks you to sudo rm -rf anything, don't do it, and don't run any command with rm in it unless you know exactly what you're doing.things i have learnt changing from Xp pro to Ubuntu

What are you trying to do? Install cheese? Why not from the repo itself?
Btw, whenever I'm in trouble, I visit #ubuntu or #ubuntuforums-beginners on IRC
