Desperately need a cd burning guru

The 'eject' command should unmount and eject a CD.

It doesn't if the CD icon has disappeared from the desktop. If you'd see the way they've covered this CD burner in armor, you'd know intuitively there's problems with it.

Okay. I'm seriously taking all your advice. And want to thank you profusely. I didn't know which of your posts should get the "thank you" star, so I put it on the one that actually managed to burn something.
