[SOLVED] Bumpy Video in Ubuntu 8.04

    Hi

I have done a fresh install of Ubuntu 8.04 last week after removing my Ubuntu 7.10. Now I am experiencing a problem with my video playback. WheneverI am playing the video from a disc (DVD/VCD), it plays for some time, stops reads the disk and again continues. because of this I am not getting a smooth play back. I have tried almost all players(Totem, Mplayer,VLC etc).

    My system config is

HP Laptop with Turion ML-30 Processor
    ATI Raedon Video Card
    1.5 gb RAM

Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem with VLC. Try changing the video output and/or audio output plugins.

In my case it helped when I switched from the pulseaudio to the ALSA plugin in vlc.
