how do I install ff3 on xubuntu 7.10

Hello I was wondering how I install firefox 3 on xubuntu 7.10 (hardy doesn't work on my dell inspiron 2600). I have downloaded ff3 and unpacked it on the desktop and can run it form there. Is there another way of doing it that's more "normal" or should I just put the ff3 folder somewhere and stfu?
