    swap

    I have two problems. My swap file seems to be filling up When I booted up it was empty I have downloaded updates and its half full and not going down. It does this till it gets full then I have to reboot.
    The other thing is my computer doesn't recognize my external hard drive. I have been using Gtorrent to download things now it is saying canot mount usb drive.
    Please keep youre answers simple as I am fairly new to ubuntu

    I HAVE 375mb RAM
    385 MB SWAP
    aT MOMENT IT IS USING 161mb RAM
    118 MB swap

    First of all, how much ram do you have?

    Next, when you have to reboot, take a screeny of sytem monitor (process tabs) and sort it by ram. (greatest first)
    Also, make sure you have all the processes showing (View > All Processes)

    And post it back here.
