[SOLVED] GRUB Error 27 - Hardy vs XP

... so far Hardy is winning, which is no bad thing, but my wife will kill me if she cannot get back to XP soon!

I was running Gutsy and XP, booting using Grub.

Anyway, I upgraded to Hardy over the weekend, deciding to tidy up my partitions to increase my linux install space to allow for a VirtualBox. I deleted my original partitions, using the Live CD & gparted, then created 2 new ones for / and /home.

Installed Hardy and that boots fine. When I try to boot to XP though I get Error 27: Unrecognised command.

Have followed some threads which suggest refreshing grub, following:

    Code:
    find /boot/grub/stage1
    reports hd0,6
    Code:
    root (hd0,6)
    Code:
    setup(hd0)
But whenever I get to setup(hd0) I get another error 27!

Any help to get the beast of XP back to life would be appreciated....

    My menu.lst looks like:

    Code:
    # menu.lst - See: grub(8), info grub, update-grub(8)
    # grub-install(8), grub-floppy(8),
    # grub-md5-crypt, /usr/share/doc/grub
    # and /usr/share/doc/grub-doc/.
