Last time I checked it wasn't possible to install itunes with wine although that might have changed now. You don't really need it when there are other music players like Rhythmbox, Exaile, and a bunch of others out there.
i used to be a windows user and have all my songs bought from the itunes store
Music Players like banshee can play the Itunes music files through some plugins
iTunes won't run on Linux.
There is no way to convert .m4p so you are SOL on any songs in that format.
Any other songs you downloaded will play fine in any other media player.
im sure you can like with wine or something
It does'nt work smoothely with wine, if you can get it to work at all.
You're much better off with something like Amarok
If you want to listen to those files in Ubuntu (or anything other than Itunes) you will need to burn the albums to cds and rerip the to mp3 ,there will be a loss in sound quality. There are some windows programs that will convert these files by creating virtual cds and then ripping them to mp3 so you don't have to use a whole bunch of cds.

You can install iTunes through Wine, but it won't have full functionality.
You cannot legally convert the iTunes Music Store songs to something usable in Ubuntu.
