I'm running Hardy on a Dell Inspiron 1520. I've got a Philips MC-M570 mini stereo that utilizes a USB connection to stream music from computers. Ubuntu recognizes the stereo and will route audio to the stereo when I set the Sound prefs to "USB Audio," as will Rythmbox. However, I'm unable to get Amarok to shunt its sound to my stereo; it simply keeps using the lappy speakers, even while system sounds and Rythmbox came through the stereo speakers.

I had a similar problem in WinXP with iTunes; it was the only player (and my favorite among the Windows brands) that wouldn't use my USB stereo connection, until the update before last when it suddenly started working.

While I like the iTunes-like interface of Rythmbox, I'd like Amarok to do what I want it to do. I've tweaked a bit, but so far haven't been able to get it to do what I want it to. Any ideas? (Amarok is set in the "Engine" pane to "Autodetect," and doesn't appear to like moving from that setting.)
