Several people have said the beta 2 of Flash v10 displays artifacts and distortions, let me try and find the beta 1 for you.

Edit: I think this is the beta 1:

    http://launchpadlibrarian.net/147304...8.04~mt.tar.gz

If you want a deb, here are the 32-bit and 64-bit packages:

    http://launchpadlibrarian.net/147306...04~mt_i386.deb

    http://launchpadlibrarian.net/147304...4~mt_amd64.deb
Thanks, but do I have to uninstall the beta 2 first or will the deb uninstall or overwrite it?

It will overwrite it, as my manual method installs the plugin into the same location as a deb does.

I can't install the deb because of an error. It says its status is:
Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libflashsupport|libasound2-plugins

So I installed libflashsupport and libasound2-plugins and it's still telling me that.

Forget the deb then, use the tar like you did in my how-to.

Ok but there is no libflashplayer.so to put on the desktop.

I think this is the beta 1:

    http://download.macromedia.com/pub/l..._051508.tar.gz

Just use the "sudo cp" command to replace the beta 2, no need to repeat the whole command string.

The really long command in my troubleshooting section which installs Flash manually, you only need the "sudo cp" part of the command, which copies it to /usr/lib/flashplugin-nonfree.

Alright that seems to have fixed it. Yeah I had some initial confusion because the file you provided here:

I'm glad you got it sorted out. Those bug fixes I was talking about must be in a driver version that isn't in the repos yet, Envy always has newer drivers.

Several people have said the beta 2 of Flash v10 displays artifacts and distortions, let me try and find the beta 1 for you.

had no libflashplayer.so so I was a little confused, but your other post had the correct beta 1.

Thank you so so so so so much. Everything is working well now. Again thanks a bunch for all the help.
