Try to select pulse audio as Amarok playback device.

    If this does not help...

    1. Do you have sound in any other media player playing same file?
    2. Go to system->preferences->sound and click on "test buttons" - do you hear anything?

    thanks alxlabs

I tried to select pulse audio as Amarok playback device but it did not help.

When i go to system->preferences->sound and click on "test buttons" - i can not hear anything.

I really don't know how to give the first step on configuring the sound in my kubuntu
