    Multiple Window Managers

I want to have multiple window managers on my hardy laptop that I can switch between. What will happen if I install the enlightenment window manager through synaptic? Will it automatically switch to it to enlightenment, or can I switch between them as I wish?

I don't know about enlightenment automatically switching, but you set which desktop environment you use when you log in.

There should be a button or something to select Gnome, KDE, Enlightenment, or whatever you choose.

At the login screen you will see a button called "Session". If you can't, press F10 and that menu will popup. Select whichever WM or DM you want and it will prompt you whether you want to make it default or not.

The repository version of Enlightenment is quite old (and rather ugly ). Follow Rui's tutorial here. It's much prettier, although it takes much longer to install.
