No Sound In FireFox 3rc2

First I looked through the threads and tried different suggestions with no luck. I still cannot get sound out of firefox 3.

So far I have deleted the plugin database file to supposedly regenerate plugins. I have tried to reinstall ff3 through the package manager. I have uninstalled ff3 and flash, then reinstalled them again.

So what can I try next?

You might be using Flash 9 which is having problems with FireFox. Install Adobe Flash 10 (beta) which solves the problem.

You could also try installing the libflashsupport package and see if that helps.

I had the same problem. I opened Synaptic, and re-installed flashplugin-nonfree.

Problem solved.

That may be because I didn't try uninstalling anything else, I don't know, but if it can help you in any way . . . .

Same problem here, no sound with internet, having tried all the above apart from Adobe Flash 10 beta? Where do I get that?

Thanks for the help. I installed the libflashsupport package and that fixed the problem. I was using Flash 9 and didn't know about the bug. Hopefully this will help others also.

Ok so that partially worked. I can get sound in Youtube, but when I go to Ustream I don't get sound unless I play a pre-recorded video. Strange.

I upgraded to Flash 10 with same results and not getting sound from Ustream, but sound with Youtube and I tried Nasa tv with success. I went back to 9 because 10 caused several crashes when I was on Ustream website.

Any ideas as to why Ustream will not play sound when watching a live event?

I still cannot get sound from a live stream on Ustream.tv. I can hear sound when I play a pre-recorded video in Ustream and I have sound at Youtube and other places. What is it about Ustream.tv. I really need my Ustream fix.
