    Window Positioning

Hi. I was wondering if someone knows of a way to correct this. When I open a new window, it always opens in the upper left-hand corner. What I would like to be able to do is 1) Have new windows open in the center of the screen, and 2) Have their positions remembered so that they will open in relatively the same position next time they're opened. Is there a way to do those two things? Thanks, everyone!

    P.S.: I'm using Ubuntu Gutsy

    Re: Window Positioning

Ok, well its hard for me to answer you because you choose to use [all variants] instead of what-have-you... but in Xubuntu you modify Window Manager Tweeks which can be found in the Xfce Settings Manager... specifically the 'placement tab', by cranking the single bar there all the way up. As for how to do it in Ubuntu or Kubuntu, I haven't a clue.

    Edit:
But that only covers the first thing... as for the second... haven't a clue.
