    Question Sound card reccommendation

I have a motherboard with a Realtek ALC888 but it seems the driver doesn't implement the control channel fully so my Onkyo AV receiver gets upset.
Does anyone have a reccomendation for a sound card (PCI or PCI Express) with optical output that works OK under Linux?
I was thinking about a Creative X-Fi or Terratec Aureon.
    Thanks.

Stay away from the X-Fi it's not supported in alsa yet the Aureon should work fine.I personally really like these.

    Thanks, I'll get a Aureon.
The Striker isn't available in Europe and seems a bit expensive for what I want.

I see it's based on the C-media 8788, they are much more cooperative then Creative on supporting developers!
There is an Asus card based on the same chip which is less:

    I'll be buying one shortly.
