I recently started to learn Java, and am currently reading through the official Java tutorial. Upon reading the Code sample license in the tutorial I came across what I thought was a slightly odd and humorous line.
The first part of the license is the usual 'You can use this, but must redistribute with the license blah, blah', all very open source. It's the final line of the license that made me laugh and left me feeling slightly puzzled;
Nuclear facility? Why nuclear facility? . When you take into account that most of the examples in the tutorial are related to creating a Bicycle class this makes this statement even more strange!You acknowledge that this software is not designed, licensed or intended for use in the design, construction, operation or maintenance of any nuclear facility.
Perhaps some one out there in Ubuntu Land can explain this specific and odd statement.
Also does anyone else have any examples of similar funny license clauses whether software related or not?
