Webcam recommend needed

Could someone recommend a good webcam that works in Unbuntu 7.1 or better, right out the box? USB cam perferred

My Logitech Quickcam Communicate STX USB webcam worked almost right out of the box in 8.04 32 and 64 bit.

I had to get V4l from Synaptic and use that instead of V4l2. V4l2 could not detect my cam but V4l found it by name.

It works with Ekiga and Cheese, etc. But I don't use Skype so I can't say that it works with Skype.

Other people have had myriad problems getting their Logitech cams to work, building drivers, etc. I had none of that. Just got V4l, that's it.

Please, do not go out and buy a different Quickcam Communicate on the faulty assumption that they are all the same and then make a voodoo doll of me and stick pins in it because it did not work.
