how do I make the computer/monitor sleep?

I'm not sure the monitor can actually go to sleep, other than just "blank" to black if you like.

It's a problem of the video card manufacturers not releasing enough (any) data for the PPC devs, so power-management is something of an issue.

on some of the g3 imacs the screen always needed to be on to help the convection cooling of the CPU. even if you sleep from mac os the screen is just blanked.
