Backuping files from Mac HFS+ partition

    Hi.

My Macbook pro partitions is gone, and apple support told me there is nothing to do besides reinstalling.

I want to backup my files, so ive booted with Ubuntu LiveCD, and im seeing all the files in my partition(and even access them), but for some reason i can't copy them to other places due to premissions.\

Any Idea how to overcome the premissions problem and backup my data?

    10X!

so you can access your OSX partition, but it won't boot? If that is the case it might just be a problem with your partition table and can be fixed...
