    General IDE

Does anyone know of a general-purpose ide? I'd like it to be able to open multiple files at once with tabs, it should be able to store snippets, and it should not be WYSIWYG.

    ide for what language ?

I have never heard of a WYSIWYG IDE for perl, c++ or python... So i am a little confused here

In English, hopefully. I do not want a wysiwyg ide, and it should open a variety of files, not just c++ or python.

    Re: General IDE

See the FAQs in the programming talk subforum (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=606009), many IDEs are discussed there. Unless you're doing web-development/GUIs I don't think you'll be SWYG much regardless of the IDE.
Most IDEs I've seen are multi-purpose (or can be made so), so that shouldn't be much of a problem.
Wish I could prove I love you, but does that mean I have to walk on water?
When we are older you'll understand it's enough when I say so, and maybe some things are that simple.
