Okay, reading from various sources, I'm confused about the name.
How do I download the .iso?
I looked on the main page, but it leads to weird links and there's no trace of the .iso file.
Is the project still alive?

I don't think the project is alive anymore. May I recommend trying Rui's guide at installing E17 on Ubuntu?

Have a look at OpenGEU instead as it essentially Ubuntu with Enlightenment.
Is there a version for 8.04?

'Cause there's only 7.10.....
I use OzOS which is a Ubuntu based Enlightenment17 distro developed by Rui Pai over at CafeLinux. OzOS use Enlightenment17 from CVS so you will always be as bleeding edge as you want to be, Rui Pai even included a smart script inside the menu so that you always can update you E17 from CVS just as easy as apt-get.
Just follow the links in my sig .
Edit: the x86 version is based on Hardy Heron and a x64 version based on Hardy is on it's way.
yeah openGEU just released an alpha version of 8.04. try it at your own risk
