What I did was implement the font setup methods(didn't bother with input or scim since I don't use japanese, just wanted it to display properly instead of something like this http://s3.supload.com/free/Japanese-...5051.png/view/)
So what happens now is that whenever I want to save a file with a Japanese filename it gives me an error(where it is unable to safe to an ntfs partition.) I tried saving to an ext3 partition and it saves the file, but upon inspection, the filename has the words "(invalid encoding)" appended to it.
Addendum: On sites like nicovideo 2, 5, and 9 are displayed differently.
For example, here's 7:57 http://s3.supload.com/free/Japanesenumbers.png/view/ and for that matter, I'm not sure if it even is displaying properly. I'm just sick and tired of the Japanese fonts not properly displaying and breaking my output.
Anyone know what the problem is?(better yet, how I can fix it.)
Notes: is it compulsory to install SCIM and tomoe even if I am not going to use Japanese input?
Update: seems that some of my files with Japanese filenames(which were broken previously, as in the display of filenames) have "disappeared"
They cannot be seen via nautilus.
