How do I connect to Windows VPN?

I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 32-bit desktop i386

I followed instructions at

Installed network-manager-pptp
Clicked Network Manager icon -> Configured new VPN entry
Did a full reboot
Clicked Network Manager icon -> Clicked my new VPN entry to connect

I get

“VPN Connection Failure
Could not start the VPN connection ‘my VPN connection name’ due to a connection error.
VPN Conneciton Failed”

Where do I find the logs? I’ve tweaking with the settings and no luck. My windows system handles this fine. Any ideas?
