i686 cpu

Hello everyone!

sorry about the newish question but when I attempt to install Ubuntu it says the kernal is not compatable with i686 CPUS.

Could anyone direct me to a link where I can find an ISO capatable with this type of CPU? Thanks!

Hi. Did you burn an iso to disc on your own? If so what is the exact name of the iso you downloaded? It could be that you have an iso/disc that not compatible with your computers architecture.

ubuntu-8.04-desktop-i386 and I burned it to a disk with InfraRecorder.
