Salsaga: Possible Macromedia Flash solution for Linux?

I stumbled across this new project called Salasaga

I haven't downloaded it yet, but it looks like a nice project. It's still brand new and buggy (according to the site) but what does everyone think?

I'd heard it'd be nearly impossible to create something like Macromedia Flash to use on linux because they're so "closed source". I hope they can make it work. Macromedia is the only thing keeping me from dropping Windows completely.

By the way, we have flash. There was a mess up in 7.10, but it was fixed under 8.04.

I'm not meaning a flash player. I mean a tool for creating .swf documents... like Macromedia flash 8.0 professional or CS.

Ohhhh! I see. Yes, I could understand that. You could test to see if the software you use in Windows will run under Wine, and if not, you could virtualize a small Windows install to use it on the fly till this is more stable. I'll have to keep an eye on this too. A buddy of mine is a graphics artist and uses flash a good deal.
